The challenge

H&M operates large-format stores inside shopping centers that keep trading during construction. Each unit must be executed to the brand's global manual, under each property's construction rules and against an opening date committed to the landlord.

The program ran across 8 different markets, with local suppliers and subcontractors in each, and several openings in parallel.

What we did

  • Construction of the 16 stores on the brand's design.
  • Engineering and systems executed to Mexican code and each shopping center's requirements.
  • Coordination with each property's management: drawing review, working hours, access, logistics and insurance.
  • Simultaneous operation in several cities with in-house supervision on every site.

Result

16 stores open across 8 markets with a consistent brand image. The program illustrates the AC Delivery System applied to large format: refined specifications, suppliers measured by market and construction times that tightened from one unit to the next.

Scope

In this program the brand supplied the design and Arquiconceptos executed construction. It is the most common model with international brands: the brand keeps control of design and we answer for the build, the engineering and the opening.
